If courts start meddling with executive functions like recommendations of pay commissions, it would adversely impact the economy, the Supreme court has said.
Cautioning courts against interfering with the pay scale fixed by the pay commissions, a bench of Justice A K Mathur and Altamas Kabir said fixing of pay scale was a purely executive function and the judiciary should not have any role in it. The apex court passed the ruling in a judgment while quashing a Patna High court order .
