National champion Achanta Sharath Kamal led the charge as India rallied to beat Argentina 3-1 in a Group E encounter in the World Team Table Tennis Championships in Guangzhou, China, on Monday.
India were 0-1 down on Monday after Soumyadeep Roy lost the opening match 4-11, 9-11, 11-3, 5-11 to Song Liu.
Sharath thrashed Gaston Diego Alto 11-5, 11-9, 11-5, before Saha got the better of Pablo Tabachink 11-8, 11-8, 9-11, 11-9.
Sharath then came back in the reverse singles to beat Liu 7-11, 11-5, 5-11, 11-9, 11-6 in a close match to guide India, placed in the second division, to their first win of the tournament after getting a walkover from Kazakhstan in the first match.
