Bose Sound-dock
Bose products are known for sound quality output. Recently Bose unveiled its new product line comprising of Lifestyle Home Entertainment and the Sound-dock Portable Digital Music system.
The Bose Lifestyle Home Entertainment comes in two versions: Lifestyle V20 and V30, which offers quality audio and video output. These two systems come with five small speaker arrays (4.5”high, and 4.2”wide), media console, a proprietary acoustimass module, to give the surround-sound feel, an RF remote and a standalone cabinet.
Added is the unique, Bose’s ADAPTIQ audio calibration system, that adjusts the system’s sound to the user’s room, speaker location. The Bose’s multi-room link makes the Lifestyle system perform in dual mode, which allows you to listen to music in one room and watch a movie in another.
The Sound Dock can be connected to an iPod, CD player, MP3 player or PC.
Semiconductors
Semiconductors have changed the face of electronics. The spurt in the mobile movement in India has brought around a great race for semiconductors. This has also led to the convergence of various formats, thus presenting a strong case for semiconductor usage.
The strong feeder for semiconductors emerges from consumer electronics, typically in forms of portable players, mobile handsets, PCs, laptops, handhelds, music players and television sets. The latest surge for semiconductor applications has been from the automotive and medical domains.
The automotive sector looks pretty regulated with more emission control and safety norms in place, with processors controlling most of the engine functionalities. Cars fitted with GPS systems, is becoming mandatory in some countries and the embedding of mobile TV in cars is seen as the road ahead in the automotive sector, a strong case for semiconductor electronics.
Presently, with on-going retail roll-outs, the usage of RFID applications is in vogue. RFID equipments like RFID tags and RFID readers would enhance the need for more electronics to be in place in such equipments.
Already with more than 100-plus semiconductor design companies placed in India, the semiconductor design industry in the country is very strong to service global requirement. Typically the time to market in a semiconductor design cycle is becoming shorter. This is enhanced due to the fact that “there is innovation in design tools and what would take a typical 12-18 months in semiconductor design is shortened now to 9 months or less this will facilitate better time to market,” highlighted Jaswinder Ahuja, Corporate Vice President, and Managing Director of Cadence Design Systems India.
