Speaking at the programme here on Tuesday convenor K Raghunath said that across the taluk people drink water containing high quantity of fluoride which adversely affects their health.

Stating that it’s better to prevent than cure, he said rain water should be refined and used to cure water-borne disease. Besides improving the ground water level is also need of the hour, he felt.

Various ways of collecting the rain water, equipment for rain water harvesting, details of the water-borne diseases and methods of prevention were some of the issues discussed during the workshop.

including photographs and pictures were also displayed to convey the message.

Taluk Panchayat President Venkatamma Nagaraj, K Raghunath Reddy, Subramani and Janaradhan Shetty of Baif were present on the occasion.
