The FKCCI said the railway minister had done well by not hiking passenger and freight charges. Leasing of wagons to private entrepreneurs is a positive step. The extension of railway lines and new railway line between Mysore and Nanjangud, Yeshwantpur-Pondicherry will help increase connectivity of the State.

Kassia President MCR Shetty termed the budget well-balanced in terms of passenger and freight movement.  The vision document referred to in budget for 2025 should be placed for a national debate for its functional value, he said.

Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce welcomed the public-private-partnership scheme for attracting investments.

Modernisation measures will help Railways keep pace with international norms, it said.
