Former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy on Tuesday accused the BJP of being responsible for the increase in incidents of terrorism in the country.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a felicitation ceremony organised by the Lambani and Banjara Community, he alleged that if more and more youth from the minority community were turning to terrorism, it was because of the acts of the BJP, which believed in political power through divisive and communal politics.
“I have no regrets for denying power to the BJP in the State. The BJP leaders did not seek transfer of power in a dignified manner but tried blackmail tactics,” Mr Kumaraswamy said.
Adding that the JD(S) in Karnataka would strive hard for the welfare of all sections of the society if it came to power, he criticised former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, who as finance minister had not released funds for several pro-poor schemes initiated by the JD(S).
“The promise of the BJP to supply free power to farmers is impractical,” he added.
