Karnataka have it easy
Chennai, agencies:

Bharat Chipli continued his rich vein of form slamming his second ton in as many matches while R Vinay Kumar gave further indication of developing into a quality all-rounder as Karnataka proved too hot for Hyderabad in the South Zone one-day tournament for the Subbiah Pillai Trophy here on Wednesday.

Making first use of the wicket, Karnataka toyed with a toothless Hyderabad attack to rack up an imposing 312 in their stipluated 50 overs. Chipli stroked his way another ton, 100 to be precise. Vinay helped himself to a well-made 75. Joining Chipli with Karnataka’s score reading 63 for two, Vinay was involved in a 143-run partnership for the third wicket to lay solid platform for a big total.

Vinay, opening the attack, provided the perfect start accounting for three top-order batsmen restricting Hyderabad to 201 for six in 50 overs.

With this win Karnataka increased their points tally to nine, earning five points from this win. TN, having won both their matches with a bonus point, are leading the table with 10 points.
