IT-ITeS exports logged 32.6 pc
New Delhi, PTI:
On the back of unprecedented rise in investment by multinationals and expansion into newer service lines, export revenues of IT-ITeS industry grew 32.6 per cent at $31.3 billion in 2006-07 from $23.6 billion in the previous year, the Economic Survey said on Thursday.


“In 2006-07, the performance of Information Technology-Enabled Services-Business Process Outsourcing (ITeS-BPO) was marked by double-digit revenue growth, steady expansion into newer service lines, increased geographic penetration and an unprecedented rise in investment by multinational corporations,” the survey said.

It said computer software contributed Rs 1,41,800 crore, while electronics hardware accounted for Rs 11,500 crore to total exports of Rs 153,300 crore. According to the survey, India was rapidly becoming an R&D hub with top global companies expanding their presence in the country.
