Oceanus, Sonata Software partner

Oceanus, on Thursday, announced that it has teamed up with Sonata Software to enhance development of integrated Case Management Solutions and Environment Management Solutions, which are specifically designed for customer service environments. As a result of this partnership, Oceanus is increasing its bandwidth to accommodate larger and more complex solutions for both established and new customers. This multi-level relationship will comprise technical support, product development, project management, consultancy, and implementation.

Birla’s stake in  Core Projects

A V Birla Group’s private equity arm TGS Investment & Trade Pvt Ltd will invest about Rs 13.73 crore for acquiring a stake in Core Projects & Technologies Ltd, reports PTI from Mumbai on Thursday. In this regard, Core Projects will issue 4,50,000 warrants worth about Rs 13.73 crore to TGS Investment, where the warrants would be priced at Rs 305 each. The shareholders of Core Projects have approved the proposal during their EGM held on Wednesday, it said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

DSP Merrill’s new Energy Fund

DSP Merrill Lynch Fund Managers, on Thursday, announced the launch of an open ended equity fund ‘DSP Merrill Lynch Natural Resources & New Energy Fund’, reports DHNS in Bangalore. The fund is an open ended equity growth scheme investing in companies in the natural resources, energy and new energy sectors. The New Fund Offer will open on March 3 and close on March 27, 2008, he added. A minimum of 65 per cent of scheme’s corpus would be invested in Indian companies that form a part of these sectors. The scheme also has a provision to invest a maximum of 35 per cent of its corpus in Merrill Lynch International Investment Funds, he added. 

HUL appoints new MD & CEO

Hindustan Unilever Ltd, said on Thursday that it had appointed Nitin Paranjpe as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. The company, said Paranjpe would succeed Douglas Baillie, who will take charge as President for Unilever’s Western Europe operations.
