A tourist was waylaid and assaulted in Majestic area, in the Upparpet police station limits, on Wednesday night.
According to Bhuvanesh, who had come here from Rajasthan and staying in a hotel, he was returning to his room after dropping his family members at the bus terminal when two persons on a motorcycle came from behind and asked him to hand over his laptop and other valuables. When he resisted, they attacked him and robbed him of valuables worth Rs 50,000.
Man dies in accident
A man died when the motorcycle he was riding rammed into a median on Outer Ring Road, in Ashok Nagar traffic police station limits, on Wednesday night. He has been identified as Madhu (39), a resident of Marathalli.
