Gear up for polls, Congress workers told
Sira, DHNS:
Former legislator S Lingaiah called upon the Congress party workers to gear up for the forthcoming Assembly election and work for strengthening the party.

Addressing the party activists at a convention at Karidasarahalli gate in Hulikunte Hobli in Sira taluk, he said that the members should work with unity in leading the party on the path of success. The taluk rural Block Congress had organised the convention.

He said that they should not let the leaders from other constituencies rupture the harmonious relationship of the members here. He further alleged that it was due to the interference of these outsiders that infighting have ensued among the party members in the region. He also attributed the Party’s failure in the previous elections to such infighting.  Block Congress President D C Nagabhushan, who presided over the programme, said that the party leaders should take action against those who involve in groupism and not against the loyalists.

He also demanded that the district Congress President be sacked for not following norms specified by the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee. He alleged that the district president was puppet in the hands of a few leaders.

DCC Bank former president M K Murugappa Gowda, State Kuruba Association former president T Gurusiddappa, leaders Srinivas, Ranganath, Women Cong President Laxmidevamma, Town Municipality Vice President Kumudaraju, Maranna and Nijalingappa were present on the occasion.
