Finance Minister P Chidambaram has sent him a congratulatory message for scoring seven gold medals at the University convocation held last week.
“It gave me great pleasure to learn about your having secured the first rank..,” the minister wrote on February 25.
“It is evident that you have achieved this rare glory by dint of sheer hard work and dedication which is to be highly appreciated. India’s emergence as a world power is dependent on its system of education and providing easy access to all. Your success is as much a result of your diligence as of our improving education system,” Chidambaram remarked in his letter.
The finance minister learnt of Konalli’s achievement through Deccan Herald which reported the gold medalist’s struggle and determination in attaining the glory.
Finance ministry’s joint secretary Dr Anup Pujari also commended his accomplishment and said Konalli has made everyone proud.
Having served Gulbarga district as deputy commissioner, the Karnataka cadre IAS officer said Konalli was a role model to all.
