If you are ready to miss one good song and some beautiful Kerala locales, then you can walk into the theatre for the second half of Honganasu as the first half of the film has nothing much to offer.
Though packed with too many sequences, director Ratnaja tries to provide a family entertainer.
Sagar (Prem) has great reverence for Soumya (Anuradha Mehta), whose marriage was arranged with his brother at a very young age. But, much to the disappointment of Soumya, Sagar’s brother refuses to marry her. Unaware of this, Sagar tries to fulfill his father’s dream. Will Sagar be able to fulfill the dream is all that you have to watch out for. The movie has good cinematography, while Hamsalekha’s music is much below his standards. Only two songs appeal to the audience. Though Sharan’s comedy evokes laughter, it fails to connect with the main plot and vanishes after the interval.
Prem as Sagar shows gradual improvement in acting skills, while Anjali has nothing much to do. Anuradha could have shown more involvement in her role.
If only the editor and director had worked a bit harder, this film could have become certainly a better film, if not great.
