KALAMS DAY OUT IN BANGALORE
'Lifestyle causing neuro disorders'
DH News Service, Bangalore:
Blaming people's changed lifestyles for many neuro related disorders including 'strokes,' former president of India APJ Abdul Kalam has called upon researchers to work on suitable treatment for mentally challenged children.

Inaugurating the BGS Global Neuroscience Institute and laying the foundation stone for its Cancer Block here on Saturday, Kalam said neuroscientists had to work like teachers for patients approaching them.

He said avoidable illnesses like Tuberculosis and brain infection were rampant in India due to personal unhygienic conditions.

There was a need to tackle the problem in a big way and the Global Hospital should tie up with institutions like National Brain Research Centre to provide connectivity of expertise in the field, Kalam said.

Earlier, the Global Group of Hospitals Chairman and Managing Director Dr K Ravindranath told presspersons that his Group was aiming at developing satellite centres in all major cities, while expanding its operations to Chennai, Mumbai and Kolkatta.

BGS Global Hospitals Vice Chairman and Director of BGS Global Neuroscience Institute Dr N K Venkataramana said the new hospital would be a one stop solution for all brain and spine treatments.
