Hoary Past With Colourful Future
Pragjyothishpur, Jan 20
“When you return home from here, remember two things – the great Himalayas and the mighty Brahmaputra. They are the signs of India’s strength.” Prime Minister Nehru told delegates to the plenary session of the Congress today in his concluding remarks.

“When I see big mountains and big rivers,” he said, “the history of thousands of years comes to my memory. ”

“Produce More & Eat More”
Calcutta, Jan 20
The Union Minister for Food and Agriculture, Mr Ajit Prasad Jain today commended to the people the slogan “Produce more and eat more”.

The policy of “import and eat” must be discontinued at all cost, he told pressmen on his way back from the Congress session at Pragjyotishpur.

State Seeks Rs 3.6 Cr More

New Delhi, Jan 20
Rural Development Minister Abdul Nazir Sab has urged the Centre to sanction Rs 3.6 crores over and above the Plan allocation for Karnataka for 1982-83 and 1983-84 for sinking 2,000 borewells in 14 districts, where drought conditions were prevailing. He made the request during his meeting with Union Works and Housing Minister Bhishma Narain Singh here today.
