Row in Australia over ‘gay’ Jesus
Australian church leaders have condemned a play shortly to open in Sydney depicting Jesus as a gay man who is seduced by Judas, AFP reports from Sydney. The play, named Corpus Christi, is due to open next month as part of the city’s annual Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

“It is deliberately, not innocently, offensive and they're obviously having a laugh about it,” Robert Forsyth, Anglican bishop of South Sydney, said. Apart from the relations between Jesus and Judas, the play also features Jesus conducting a gay marriage between two apostles.

Guidelines for cosmetic surgery
The wife of a Malaysian MP is fighting for her life following a botched cosmetic surgery, prompted the government to plan guidelines for aesthetic medicine and surgery, reports IANS from Kuala Lumpur.
Director General of Health Ismail Merican said the ministry was coming out with guidelines on aesthetic medical practices.

Kidman has strained ties with kids
Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise’s new biography reveals that his ex-wife Nicole Kidman has a difficult and emotionally strained relationship with their children, Isabella and Connor, reports IANS from New York.
Andrew Morton, the author, said: “Those who saw the family close up concluded that Tom was much more comfortable and enthusiastic as a parent.” Kidman had earlier confided on TV that her kids don’t call her “mommy” but Nicole, which she hates.

Designer studios set up in ex-brothels
Amsterdam unveiled its “Red Light Fashion” project on Saturday, having converted 16 brothels in the city’s ancient red light district into studios for young fashion designers, reports AP.
