V J Bobby, had applied for MSc (Nursing) to the Goutham College of Nursing in Bangalore. She paid up an advance of Rs 18,000 to the college which also collected her original certificates. Later, she came to know that the college had admitted more than 40 students against the authorised list showing only 10 seats. After several visits they returned only her certificates after collecting Rs 7500 from her. Having lost her money and one year of studies, she complained to the Forum. The President Sri G  Siddanagoud ruled that the college was guilty of deficient service and ordered it to refund Rs 25,500 with an additional Rs 3000.

Raghuram P Jhagirdar had paid Rs 50,200 to the City Engineering College. On getting a better seat in another college, he could not get his money back from CEC. He complained to the IV Forum which ordered the college to refund Rs 24,210 to him.
