Announcing this here on Sunday, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown said that this would help new generation Indian businessmen to get access to funds to set up their enterprises.
Brown who was here on two-day visit, was addressing the UK-India Entrepreneurship Summit at IIT.
Backing India’s bid for permanent membership of the UN Security Council, he said “ India should become a member of the UNSC”. Favouring to include India in G-8 developed nations group, he said expansion of G-8 is required to include India. “There is no future for any big economic bloc which does not include India”, he said.
No concensus
There has been a demand to expand G-8 group to include developing countries. But existing members have failed to come to a consensus on this issue.
Earlier, interacting with a women’s group, he said India and UK had a strong economic relationship and hoped that in the next two days it would be strengthened further.
Describing India and Britain as two confident 21st century economies he said trade between India and Britain had doubled in the last five years, increasing at the rate of 20 per cent a year.
