NICE awaits court nod
Mandya, DHNS: The second phase of road works will commence from Mysore soon after obtaining the court approval, said NICE Managing Director Ashok Kheny.
He told reporters here on Sunday the works on a stretch of road between Bangalore and Bidadi were complete. He said basic facilities would be provided to villagers of Somapur and other villages who will be displaced during the road works. The historically significant places will be left untouched, he added.
Nominated to people’s body
Bangalore, DHNS: Jeerige Lokesh, former KPCC secretary and social worker, has been nominated to the national executive committee of Council For Advancement of People’s Action and Rural Technology (Capart). He is one of the promoters of the Pragati Co-op Bank, Malleswaram.
Gita Parayana at Shankar Mutt
Bangalore, DHNS: Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bangalore Committee, organised 15th year of Srimad Bhagwadgita Parayana at Sringeri Sri Shankar Mutt in Chamarajpet on Sunday. Devotees chanted the 18 chapters of the Gita, 700 shlokas in chorus.
Rs 13 cr for Kodachadri
Bangalore, DHNS: Former MLA Araga Jnanendra said that Rs 13 crore is being invested to develop Kodachadri in Hosanagara taluk as tourist hotspot.
Speaking at the convention of Bangalore residents who hail from Thirthahalli, here on Sunday, he said the project was sanctioned by the previous government and includes a star hotel at the cost of Rs 3 cr and other facilities.
Folk songs’ competition
