Lorry owners' stir: Security tightened
DH News Service, Bangalore:
Elaborate security arrangements have been made in the wake of strike by lorry owners in the State beginning Sunday midnight.

Karnataka Lorry Owners’ Association and other vehicle operators are staging an indefinite strike to oppose the government’s proposal on speed governors. Though the government has assured lorry owners it would listen to their grievances, they have decided to go on a strike.

Instructions have been given to DCs of all districts, railway and KGF authorities and IGPs to ensure transportation and supply of essential commodities. Instructions have been given to take stringent action against office-bearers and activists of lorry association if they block traffic or attack truck operators who want to work.
In Bangalore, police have taken all precautionary measures.

Additional Director General of Police Shankar Bidari said there will be tight security at Attibele, Yelahanka and Nelamangala.

The State has kept a reserve force of 10,000 jawans to meet any eventuality.
