Inaugurating a National workshop for regional editors organised by the Mahabharata Samshodhana Pratisthanam, as part of implementing encyclopaedia of the Mahabharata Project in Bangalore on Saturday, Dr Kasturirangan said that the satellite camera can capture the exact image of any place with an accuracy of one meter.
This can be more accurate than the traditional excavation style of archeological surveys, he said.
There is no better alternative to know Indian history than Mahabharata, he said, drawing attention to the graphic details of politics, war, human relationships and other details, which prevailed in India over 3,000 years ago. In his presidential address, former Chief Justice of India M N Venkatachalaiah said that there was a need for epics and science to go hand-in-hand. Director of Saraswathi Nadi Shodha Prakalp Dr S Kalayana Raman said that the existence of Saraswathi river was proved by satellite images.
