91.7 pc children given polio drops in DK district
DH News Service,Mangalore:

 Dakshina Kannada district witnessed 91.7 per cent of success in the first phase of the Pulse Polio drive held on Sunday.
District Health Officer Dr H Jagannath said that 32,811 children were administered with polio drops in Bantwal Taluk achieving 95 per cent success. Belthangady and Sullia Taluk achieved 94 per cent each with 22,147 and 11,794 children being immunised respectively, Puttur taluk achieved 93 per cent with 24,043 being immunised.
Mangalore urban witnessed 84.36 per cent of success while Mangalore rural recorded 90.4 per cent success with 22,077 children and 47,717 children being immunised respectively.
On January 7, 8 and 9 the volunteers will visit door to door to reach out to those  who could not get the children to the booths.  The II phase of the drive will be started on February 10 to administer polio drops to all children upto 5 years.
