He got rid of her as she was a girl
DH News Service,Bangalore:
Malleswaram police, along with the father Manjunath, who had given away his baby to another woman, left for her residence in Pavagada.

The baby had disappeared from the labour ward of KC General Hospital on Saturday before the father finally admitted to ‘gifting’ her to Channamma in Pavagada. He said his dejection over having a girl child and the possible opposition by his parents forced him to take this step.
When this correspondent visited the hospital, Mahalaxmi was asking the hospital authorities to arrange for a meeting with her husband. She was confident of convincing him to disclose the whereabouts of Chanamma and added she wanted her child back.
Meanwhile, doctors, paramedical and supporting staff of the hospital went on a strike seeking security for them while on duty. The demand comes in light of Kannada Rakshana Vedike members’ protest on Sunday in the premises.
CCTVs at hospital
The hospital has been told to go ahead with installation of CCTVs, which is expected to be functional in a couple of days. They will be installed outside the labour ward and near the gates, initially.
The list grows
Police are awaiting the DNA result on the female infant fished out of a well on Tumkur Road.
Meanwhile, the body of a baby girl was found  buried in a vacant site in JP Nagar 6th phase on Monday.  The police shifted her body to KIMS Hospital.
