BANKING / Revenue growth 38%
Corporation Banks profit up 23 pc  
Corporation Bank posted a 22.79 per cent increase in its net profit to Rs 177. 11 crore for the first quarter ended June 2007, Corporation Bank Chairman & Managing Director B. Sambamurthy announced on Saturday in Bangalore.
TELECOM / Overall growth of 4.1 per cent
Six million GSM mobile users added in June 07  
Within the B circle, the highest growth was recorded by Uttar Pradesh (West) circle at 6.5 per cent, closely followed by West Bengal and the Andaman & Nicobar circle at 6.1 per cent.
Allahabad Bank launches reverse mortgage loan  
Allahabad Bank, which reported a 56 per cent hike in net profit in the first quarter at Rs 200.40 crore, rolled out on Saturday reverse mortgage loan scheme for senior citizens and doorstep banking services.
RBI asks banks to slash interest rates on export finance  
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Saturday directed all commercial banks to reduce interest rates on export finance by two percentage points following governments decision to grant subsidy to exporters hit hard by rise in rupee value.
Industry against job quota in pvt sector  
Apex chambers of Trade and Industry on Saturday conveyed to the government that they were dead against any legislation on job reservation in the private sector.
