EVENT IN THE CITY
Ghazal duo

Maam Entertainment has organised a ghazal concert of two great ghazal maestros - Jagjit Singh and Ustad Ghulam Ali. The concert called Beyond Boundaries will be held on August 5 and at Gayatri Vihar, Palace Grounds. Tickets are priced at Rs 1650, 1200, 600 and 330.

Tickets can be booked online at  www.ticketpro.in or call 25705858.  Tickets priced at Rs 1650 are available only at K C Das, Church Street. The other tickets are available at all Planet M outlets, Baskin Robbins Outlets at Koramangala, Sadashivnagar and Forum Mall (PVR Floor). For details call 9845447130.

In March 2005, Maam Entertainment had first initiated the idea of presenting a Ghazal concert with the best two contemporary exponents from the Indian sub-continent - Jagjit Singh from India and Ghulam Ali from Pakistan.

Both the maestros were thrilled to see the enthusiasm music lovers of Bangalore had shown by their strong presence. Ever since there has been a demand for another concert from the maestros which has finally materialised and will take place on August 5.

Ghulam Ali can easily be termed as the most versatile ghazal singer. Along with Mehdi Hassan, he has played a pioneering role in reviving the Ghazal in the seventies. He can deservedly be called an influential amabassador from across the border, who, when he sang Faasle aise bhi honge, yeh kabhi socha na tha brought ghazal from both the countries closer to one another.
