Thakur leaves for Delhi with final report
The Governor in his report has outlined the chronology of events since the fall of the JDS-BJP government headed by H D Kumaraswamy, including the dharna staged by the BJP to mount pressure for inviting it to form the government.

A new stamp released on Steve Irwin, the late Australian environmentalist and TV's "Crocodile Hunter". The stamp shows Irwin (C) with his daughter Bindi (R) and son Bob (L), an image which was used as a commemorative cover on the magazine New Idea and published after his death. Irwin died last year when a stingray barb pierced his chest as he was filming on  Australia's Great Barrier Reef.

Scientists abandoned their monitoring posts on Mount Kelut's fertile slopes Sunday as the tremors under the volcano became so strong they could not be measured. They could not see the peak through heavy cloud but said they believed it was erupting. Eventually they found that it had not.
