SL
The five-day festival, organised by the group in assistance with the Ittina Abey Residents Association, had a grand finale with the Sindoor puja on October 21.

Goddess Durga along with other divine figures Saraswati, Lakshmi, Ganapathy and Karthikeyan were taken to the Ulsoor lake on Sunday for immersion by the Sarbojanin Durga Puja Samiti of L B Shastri Nagar.

The five-day festival, organised by the group in assistance with the Ittina Abey Residents Association, had a grand finale with the Sindoor puja on October 21.

“In Holi-style, Sindoor and Kumkum was applied to all women and sweets distributed to all the participants,” said Anuradha Ranganathan, in-charge of the cultural committee at Ittina Abey.

Among the Bengalis who played a key role in organising the event were Sujith Paul, Rosy Paul, Dasgupta and Victor. The festival began on October 17.

A huge Durga idol was set up on a platform and decorated along with other idols. Culturals marked the opening day.

Pujas were performed to the God thrice a day the following days.
