Water Resource Minister M B Patil said that the government will expose the 'big drama' that the Goa government was enacting in the Mahadayi dispute, before the Mahadayi River Water Disputes Tribunal.

He was speaking during an inspection tour of the Mahadayi river basin on Monday.

Blaming BJP National President Amit Shah, Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and State BJP President B S Yedyurappa for the farce, he called them the 'stage managers' of the show.

"If Yeddyurappa had not made a fuss, the Goa Water Resource Minister Vinod Palyekar would not have come here. We will present our case irrefutably before the Tribunal and get our share of the water," he reassured.

Patil clarified that no works were going on in the basin as alleged by the Goa government. "We had no word of Palyekar's visit to the project site," he added.

Goa creating controversy

"Palyekar has visited the spot in order to create a controversy. The projects that one sees there are old ones. Palyekar has inspected old projects. No new projects have been taken up since August. We are prepared for a third party inspection anytime. Goa's statements are made to misguide people" Patil added.

Meanwhile, Ashok M Pattan, chief whip in the Legislative Assembly, said that Goa Water Resource Minister Vinod Palyekar's visit to the Kalasa-Banduri Nala project site at Kanakumbi in Belagavi district, was wrong as the dispute was still unresolved in court.
