The film will be Sanjay Dutt’s first film since his release from Pune’s Yerwada Central Jail in February, 2016. His was last seen in PK in 2014 with Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma. Bhoomi, in which Sanjay Dutt plays father to Aditi Rao Hydari has largely been shot in Agra.

Dutt was convicted by a special TADA court on charges of possessing an AK-56 assault rifle and he underwent a sentence of five years. However, his early release and remission had been challenged in the Bombay High Court, which would hear the case again, next week.

Dutt, the son of actor-politician couple late Sanjay Dutt and late Nargis, is a veteran over 100 films and had several superhits to his name like Khalnayak and Sadak and the recent Munnabhai series.
