Om Swaroop Gowda: Bengaluru's Guinness boy (Video)

Last Updated 23 July 2016, 12:47 IST

A six-year-old Bengaluru boy Om swaroop Gowda set a Guinness Record in Farthest Limbo Skating recently. He covered a distance of 65.28 metres in 33.64 seconds by skating under 36 cars.

The record was not just about the time taken and the distance covered.  The Guinness adjudicator had stipulated that the skater's hands or fingers should not touch the ground while skating.

Om had been training for the last two years to break the record, which was previously held by Kolhapur girl Shreya Deshpande.

Though he was given three tries, he set a new world record in the first attempt itself.

Om watched a few skaters in action during a morning walk with his father in 2014 and got interested in the sport. With natural talent and hard work, he won many titles at the district and state levels before attempting to break the Guinness record.
