About This Video : Indian Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday said that the contribution of the direct taxes to the GDP has increased three-fold, from 1.9 percent to 6.1 percent. Mukherjee said that the contribution of the direct taxes to the GDP was less than two percent and that the indirect taxes contributed more than the direct taxes when the reforms were undertaken two decades ago.
