About this Video: Steep hike in the price of gold ahead of festivals like Durga Puja and Diwali, have kept the customers at bay from buying the yellow metal. This has also upset the jewellery shop owners as they are incurring huge losses due to low turnout of customers. In the year 2009, the rate of gold per 10 grams was Rs. 15,105 and in 2010, it rose to Rs.16, 320. In 2011, during the month of March the gold prices rose to Rs. 20,775 and currently it is available at Rs.28, 000.
