The famous Padmanabhaswamy temple in Thiruvananthapuram has been witnessing a sharp hike in pilgrims and tourists thronging its chamber over the past year, thanks to the temple's fabled treasures. The temple shot into prominence last year after its cellars were opened, revealing it as India's richest temple with assets valued at over 1 trillion rupees. This valuation could possibly increase since one of the most important cellars, the 'B" cellar, of the temple, has still not been opened.
