Epsilon, an Alliance Data company, announced opening Agency Innovation Lab in Bengaluru.

Interacting with DH, Epsilon Chief Digital and Innovation Officer Tom Edwards said the company is looking at providing a holistic consultative approach to its customers’ client-outreach programme.

"Agency Innovation Lab is second one after the one in our headquarters and will hire a 100 member team. The lab will give opportunities for Indian talent to further tweak the business requirements in a better way," he said.

Edwards said data-driven activation and execution helps in personalised marketing to consumers across offline and online channels.

"A lot of our focus is around how we can use our data assets to connect with consumers. We paint an entire picture to show data of culture, aligning it with the data of identity that Epsilon owns and ultimately the data of intent," said Edwards.

He said the company uses AI with natural language processing and machine learning to help drive insights that deliver content strategy. Epsilon is banking on strategy and innovation with a focus on planning and research.

"The Bengaluru lab will help in providing unrivaled data intelligence, customer insights and world-class technology including loyalty, email and CRM platforms to our technologists to come up with solutions," he said.

The company’s digital media arm, Conversant and affiliate marketing network, C J Affiliate provides differential marketing experiences at a time when digital is making a disruption.

Epsilon is realising the fact that business customers are reducing their advertisement spend. "But our all encompassing solution with a focus on AI, ML and deep learning technologies will help them to get better return on investment (ROI)," he said.

Bengaluru is known for many multi-national technology companies setting up their global innovation centres (GICs).

Ravi Gururaj, president of entrepreneur association TiE Bangalore, said the talent pool available in the city is one of the main important reason for these companies setting up these GICs in Bengaluru.

"Also, the talent pool churned out of the existing technology companies and startup are phenomenal. They are coming up with out of the box solutions for complex tech problems," said Gururaj.
