A 30-year-old Bengalurean has mysteriously gone missing in Muscat, Oman, since December 10 last year.

Deepak R P was working with the Mass International Hypermarket in Oman for the past seven years.

Manjula V, Deepak’s mother, claimed that she last heard from her son on December 10 around 11 am after which his phone remained switched off. Manjula then contacted her son’s company staff who did not respond to her queries properly. She waited for a few days hoping her son to call her, but he did not. She then approached the city police commissioner’s office and filed a man missing complaint on December 17.

Additional commissioner of police (West zone) BK Singh, on December 19, had written a letter to the Under Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of External Affairs, requesting them to take necessary action to trace Deepak.

‘Waiting for response’

“I am still awaiting communication from the MEA,” BK Singh said.

Speaking to DH, Manjula said she is a single mother to a handicapped daughter too. Deepak is the only breadwinner for the family. She requested the authorities to find her son and hopes to reunite with him soon.
