Sulking Tejaswini made BJP vice-president

Last Updated 02 April 2019, 10:52 IST

The State BJP unit appointed Tejaswini Ananth Kumar as its vice president, here on Tuesday. State BJP president B S Yeddyurappa announced the same on Twitter:

"I am very delighted to announce that Smt. @Tej_AnanthKumar has been appointed as state vice president of @BJP4Karnataka. Wishing her all the very best."

The announcement came after Tejaswini, wife of union minister late Ananth Kumar and the front-runner for BJP ticket from Bangalore South was denied the same in favour of Yuva Morcha leader Tejasvi Surya recently. The decision during BJP national president Amit Shah's visit to the city, is being seen as an attempt to pacify the disgruntled leaders unhappy over Surya's candidature.

Tejaswini, it can be recalled, was reluctant to campaign after the nomination was announced, and had expressed her desire to work for her NGO Admaya Chetana. On Tuesday morning, she had tweeted two photos and had said:

Back to @adamya_chetana 's works.

Inspected the installation of new steam generator for #Bengaluru kitchen.
