Three ministers, 10 MLAs, mayor file papers for city seats

Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy, Agriculture Minister Krishna Byre Gowda, Housing Minister M Krishnappa, KPCC working president Dinesh Gundu Rao and senior BJP leaders S Suresh Kumar and V Somanna were among 71 candidates who filed their nomination papers for the Assembly seats in Bengaluru on Friday.

Ramalinga Reddy filed his papers as Congress nominee from BTM Layout and Byre Gowda from Byatarayanapura. MLA Suresh Kumar and former mayor G Padmavati (Congress) filed their nominations for Rajajinagar.

A new entrant to Congress, B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan filed his papers from Chamarajpet. Uday Garudachar (BJP) from Chickpet, N S Nandish Reddy (BJP) from KR Puram, MLA K Gopalaiah (JDS) and N L Narendra Babu (BJP) from Mahalakshmi Layout and R Akhanda Srinivasa Murthy (Congress) from Pulakeshinagar were some of the candidates who submitted their nominations.

Sitting MLA Munirathna (Congress) and G H Ramachandra from the JD(S) filed the papers for the Rajarajeshwari Nagar segment. BJP leader Katta Subramanya Naidu filed papers for Shivajinagar.

Mayor R Sampath Raj also entered the fray as Congress nominee from CV Raman Nagar (SC).

In Govindarajnagar, legislators Somanna (BJP) and Priyakrishna (Congress) filed their papers. From Vijayanagar, Housing Minister M Krishnappa (Congress) and H Ravindra (BJP) filed their nominations.
In Basavanagudi, sitting legislator L A Ravi Subramanya (BJP), L Boregowda (Congress) and K Bagegowda (JD-S) filed their papers.

MLAs Satish Reddy (BJP, Bommanahalli), S T Somashekhar (Congress, Yeshwantpur), S Muniraju (BJP, Dasarahalli), Aravind Limbavbali (BJP, Mahadevapura) and M Krishnappa (BJP, Bengaluru South) also filed their nominations.
