A rally organised by the Lingayat Panchamasali community at the Palace Grounds on Sunday is likely to cripple traffic on the busy airport road and other prominent roads of the Central Business District (CBD).

The rally, scheduled to start at 11 am at the Krishna Vihar ground, will be attended by VIPs, religious leaders and an expected one lakh members of the community from various parts of the state. The rally seeks reservation benefits for the Panchamasali community.

As participants are expected to reach the Palace Grounds by buses, cars and maxi-cabs, the Bengaluru traffic police have issued a traffic advisory, asking the general public to avoid roads adjoining the venue, and suggested alternative routes for the regular vehicular movement.

The traffic police have also banned vehicle parking between 10 am and 4 pm on Sunday on Ramana Maharshi Road, Sir CV Raman Road, Ballari Road, Mehkri Circle, Jayamahal Road, T Chowdiah Road, RT Nagar Main Road and the adjoining roads.

People travelling to the airport from South and West Bengaluru have been advised to take a left turn at Basaveshwara Circle (Chalukya) and travel through the High Grounds police station junction, T Chowdiah Road, Windsor Manor Junction, Cauvery Junction, Bhashyam Circle, Jeevaraj Alva Road, Sadashivanagar police station junction, New BEL Road, Devasandra and the Hebbal flyover.

On the way back, travellers can commute via New BEL Road, BHEL Circle (IISc Gate), Maramma Circle and Margosa Road.

People travelling to the airport from eastern parts of the city should pass through MG Road, Kamaraj Road, Thomas Café, Wheelers Road, ITC Flyover, Maruti Seva Nagar, IOC Flyover, Banaswadi Main Road, Outer Ring Road, Thanisandra Main Road, Hegade Nagar, Kattigehalli and Bagalur Cross.

On the way back, travellers can take the left turn at the ORR towards Nagawara junction and pass through Tannery Road and Hennur Outer Ring Road.
