Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the assembly election is for the progress and prosperity of Karnataka and for building the nation under Team India with Narendra Modi as its captain.

He called upon the BJP workers not to get carried away by those who rebelled and contested as an independent candidate in Puttur constituency after BJP decided to field an ordinary party worker Asha Thimmappa Gowda.

“There is a need to convince those Hindu activists who are supporting the rebel candidate and ensure the victory of BJP candidate Asha Thimmappa Gowda,” he said while addressing after concluding a mammoth roadshow at Kille Maidan in Puttur on Saturday.

Slamming Congress for its manifesto which vowed to ban Bajrang Dal in Karnataka, he said “workers who believe in nationalism will not tolerate it. It will support the anti national organisations. Bajrang Dal is a social and cultural, patriotic organisation that has been upholding the spirit of Sanatana Dharma in the country and carrying out social works,” he said.

“India is becoming a secure and super power under Prime Minister Narendra Modi with sleuths of development works in progress in the country. The Modi-led government has not discriminated against anyone while implementing welfare schemes and the benefits of the schemes have reached farmers, women and youth. The Modi government believes in “sabka saath, sabka vikas,” he said.

Yogi also said, "Under the vision of PM Modi, leadership of B S Yediyurappa and CM Basavaraj Bommai, the double engine government in Karnataka has worked for the progress of the country. The Congress and JD(S) want to stop the development in Karnataka."

Noting that the Ram temple issue in Ayodhya that was pending has been resolved by BJP, Adityanath asked the crowd to repeat after him, ‘Jaikaara Veer Bajrangi, Har Har Mahadev'. He said that he has come from Ayodhya, where Ram Mandir is being constructed, to Karnataka where the BJP government has taken up development of birth place of Lord Hanuman.

Congress had been insulting Lord Ram and had questioned the existence of Lord Rama and even submitted an affidavit to the Supreme Court, said Yogi Adityanath.
