Don't believe in telling my children what to do professionally, says actor Ronit Roy

Ronit is married to Neelam Singh and has three children

Actor Ronit Roy says that he does not believe in telling his children what to do in life and adds that his son is an aspiring rapper.

"I have never told my children to be anything in life. The only advice that I have given them is that you need to be passionate about/love whatever you do professionally," he told DH during an interaction with the media.

These comments come at a time when Ronit is gearing up for the release of the upcoming series 7 Kadam. The Eros Now original features him in the role of a father who tries to fulfill his dream of being a football star through his son. The show has piqued the curiosity of the fans as it reunites him with 'OTT sensation' Amit Sadh, who had previously collaborated with him for the movies Guddu Rangeela and Sarkar 3. Ronit says that his reel equation with the Shakuntala Devi actor is similar to the real one.

"I love Amit in real life and that kind of translates on to the screen in 7 Kadam where I play his father," he said

Ronit made his Bollywood debut with the 1992 release Jaan Tere Naam, impressing a section of the audience with his work. He subsequently transitioned to television, becoming a household name with Kasautii Zindagii Kay. The 'Amitabh Bachchan of the small screen' consolidated his standing in the industry with shows such as Bandini, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Adalat. Ronit also delivered strong performances in films such as Boss and Ugly. Kaabil, starring Hrithik Roshan, too proved to be a gamechanger for 'KD Pathak'.

Ronit ventured into the web space with Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain, adding a new dimension to his career. He delivered a powerful performance in Hostages, much to the delight of fans. It remains to be seen whether he is able to score another digital hit with 7 Kadam.
