Confident of victory in the assembly elections held on 11 April in the state, the YSR Congress Party has started shifting its headquarters from the Lotus Pond of Hyderabad to the party office cum residence of YS Jaganmohan Reddy here, to be fully functional by 22 May, a day ahead of counting of votes.

Jagan has organized a house warming ceremony at his new abode in the riverfront village of Tadepalli here in February. The new house was constructed reportedly at a cost of Rs 100 core in a two-acre plot. However, Jagan never stayed here and operated from the party central office in Hyderabad.

After the campaign and the polling, he left for Hyderabad on 11 April only to return to Pulivendula, his native place on Tuesday. He will hold a Praja Durbar on Wednesday and take part in Iftar prayers. Jagan is expected to be present here on the day results will be declared.

Meanwhile, the party started moving all the furniture from the central office to Tadepalli, to be ready for the activity in anticipation of a victory for Jagan. The party which is sure of winning over 120 seats in the 175 seat assembly hopes that the incumbent Chief Minister will operate from the Tadepalli residence that has a separate facility for the party headquarters. However, the central office of the party will continue working in Hyderabad with a small number of staffers taking care of day to day operations.

Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu has shifted here to a rented accommodation in Undavalli village on the riverfront. TDP is building a state of the art swanky headquarters for AP wing near the state capital. Naidu’s family still lives in Hyderabad where they run the Heritage foods corporate office. Naidu visits the Hyderabad home once in while to spend time with grandson Nara Devansh.

Janasena leader Pawan Kalyan who has built party office here and operates from here has laid the foundation for his residence and office complex very close to the Acharya Nagarjuna University in Khaza of Guntur district in 2018. Pawan was the first politician of the state (after bifurcation) to own a house in the state capital. As of now all the political parties including Congress and Left Parties have their state headquarters here.
