Modi has lost confidence: Mamata

Last Updated 11 May 2019, 17:41 IST

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday said that the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are losing confidence as well as the elections.

“One BJP leader is saying that they will win 10 seats. Another one says 23 seats. Yesterday the Home Minister said they will win 42 seats. They have lost their mind. They are going to lose in every state. They have lost their confidence,” said Banerjee. She was addressing a rally at Haroa in North 24 Parganas district.

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo added that the BJP will not win seats enough to return to power.

“In Uttar Pradesh, they (BJP) will come down to about 17 from 73 and will draw a blank in Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Punjab and Odisha,” said Banerjee.

She hinted about TMC playing a kingmaker at the Centre if a new government comes to power. “BJP has made the entire country afraid. Only TMC has the courage to take on BJP,” said Banerjee. She alleged that the ruling party at the Centre has captured government institutions like CBI and RBI.
