Craft beer, starters are a must-try here

An open-air setup, in-house brewery, and multicuisine dishes are some of the attractions at Levitate Brewery and Kitchen in JP Nagar.

The nightlife is JP Nagar is definitely getting better. With more and more pubs and breweries opening up in the area, customers have a lot more options now. And the new-kid-on-the-block is Levitate Brewery and Kitchen.

Designed to distort the rules of gravity, it’s a place you will enjoy experiencing. From levitated chairs and barrels, the decor gives you a vibe of the place you want to hang out after a hectic day. We liked that it is not only an open-air setup but also has a terrace area which adds on to the idea of levitation. There’s something about watching the busy traffic while you enjoy a chilled glass of beer — the Bengalurean in me was quite happy knowing that I was having a good time and not stuck in traffic.

The food offered here has flavours from across the globe. The craft beer is also a great addition to the pub culture. Oh, they have beer cocktails too!

The ambience definitely set the standard high for us so we were looking for the same when it came to food as well.

We started out with a number of starters, which we must say, was everything we were looking for. The ‘Rawa Upma Cheese Balls’ caught our eye and we couldn’t be happier. It was crunchy, cheesy and the perfect munchy for a pleasant evening. The ‘Jalapeno Cheese Balls’ didn’t disappoint us either. Then again, it’s quite hard to mess that up.

Our vegetarian friend liked the ‘Makai Paneer Pakoda’ for its tender and juicy flavour. The ‘Broccoli 65’ wasn’t a huge hit as we expected it to be crunchier.

We really enjoyed the ‘Bacon Wrapped Sausages’, because, come on! A dish that has bacon in it cannot be wrong in any way.

Soon enough, we realised that we should keep some room for the main course too. We decided to order ‘Pasta Alfredo’, ‘Mutton Rogan Josh’, ‘Paneer Lababdar’, ‘Chicken Tikka Masala’ and ‘Hot Chicken Enchiladas’.

The pasta was like any other good pasta you’ll find. Nothing to praise or complain about here. While my vegetarian friend had the roti with paneer, I chose to have my roti with the chicken and mutton. Paneer was soft, tender and juicy. It had the right flavours and just what we needed with our chilled drink. The tikka masala was also good, although I wish it was a bit spicier. The mutton was tender, juicy and fell right off the bone, just the way I prefer it. I would definitely recommend this with hot roti or naan. While I would say the enchiladas were good, it wasn’t something that I would finish. The flavour was good during the first couple of bites but it soon became boring and didn’t motivate me to want to finish it. Disclaimer: I was probably too full by then, so do give this a try and tell me what you think!

However full we were, we could not say no to desserts. The ‘Moist Brownie with Espresso Mousse’, ‘Milk Chocolate Dome’, ‘Molten Lava’ and ‘Creme Brulee’ were to die for.

Yes, each and every dessert had something more to offer. If gluttony had a different name, these desserts would be it.

Levitate Brewery and Kitchen is located at 57, 1st Main Rd, Sarakki Industrial Layout, Dollar Layout, 3rd Phase, JP Nagar.
