Underworld don Ravi Pujari, who was on run for last 15 years, was arrested in Senegal, according to multiple media reports.
Udupi-born Ravi Pujari was grown up under gangster Chhota Rajan in Mumbai. Later Pujari established his own gang. There were rumours that he had shifted his base to Bengaluru after series of encounters with Mumbai Police.
Ravi Pujari was in news last year, when JNU students Umar Khalid Shehla Rashid and Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani had allegedly received death threats.
On Monday, the Crime Branch of the Mumbai Police had invoked the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against William Rodricks and Akash Shetty, alleged members of the Ravi Pujari gang.
