Modi’s Jhoola diplomacy failed: Owaisi

Last Updated 25 July 2019, 13:13 IST

Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen party president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi said "Jhoola diplomacy" had failed as China is refusing to blacklist terrorist Masood Azhar.

China has blocked the United Nations Security Council committee from blacklisting Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Masood Azhar for the fourth time.

Responding to this, Owaisi came down heavily on the Narendra Modi government for giving orders for bulletproof jackets worth Rs 630 crore to China.

"What is your nationalism? China has refused to blacklist the known terrorist and you are giving the country orders for bulletproof jackets. It is a clear case of failure of jhoola diplomacy," Owaisi said in an interaction with media here on Thursday.

He later tweeted saying: "Our bullet proof jackets: Chinese fingerprints, Our Statue of Unity: Chinese fingerprints, Masood Azhar’s designation as terrorist blocked: Chinese fingerprints, series of foreign policy disasters: Modiji's fingerprints."
