According to reports reaching here, eight persons died of lightning strikes in Nanded, Latur and Osmanabad districts of Marathwada region.
One person drowned in Anjana river in Kannad in Aurangabad district.
At Kurla in Mumbai, a 25-year-man was drowned in a nullah.
A landslide was reported at the road that connects the hill station of Lonavla to Pawana dam near Pune.
The twin districts of Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg in the coastal Konkan belt received heavy rainfall. The Dapoli-Harne road had to be closed as water flowed over it at various places.
The Harnai village in Raigad received 174 mm rainfall while Ratnagiri district received 210 mm rainfall.
The Akola district in Vidarbha, Jalgaon in North Maharashtra and Solapur in Western Maharashtra received over 60 mm rainfall.
A lot of tourists were seen at the hill station of Mahabaleshwar in Satara district that wore a misty look.
