Last Updated 19 October 2019, 14:28 IST

Senior Karnataka Government official, Mohammed Mohsin, is still under suspension although the Election Commission has now attached him with the office of the Chief Electoral Officer of the southern state.

Mohsin, whom the EC deployed as a poll observer in Odisha, was suspended after he led a search on the helicopter used by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his recent visit to Sambalpur and other places in the Eastern State. After suspending him, the EC asked him to stay in Sambalpur, Odisha itself.

He will, however, return to Bengaluru now as the poll-panel has now attached him with the office of the Karnataka CEO's office. He will, however, continue to remain under suspension, EC sources clarified.
