Now Bull and Cow safari for tourists in Jaipur

Taking a cue from the recently started Tiger and Leopard Safaris by forest department now Rajasthan government is planning to come up with Bull safari for the visitors.

Hingonia Gaushala, the biggest Gaushala in the state which has around 20,000 cows has been earmarked to start Bull Safari for the visitors. The tourists visiting the desert state will now be able to see the cattle of cows, buffaloes and bulls roaming around in the open grounds.

As per the sources, the safari will be held during day and night and visitors will be taken via car for the sighting of cattle in the Gaushala. The construction work of cottages and Cow shelter has been started for the safari.

While speaking to DH in charge of Hingonia Gowshalya said, “We are making a separate track for Bull Safari. Also, there will be stay arrangements of the visitors. Apart from the safari, the technique to get milk using advanced machines will be shown to the visitors.”

The initiative of Bull Safari is being taken by the Akshaya Patra Foundations and the safari will happen in Hingonia Punarvas Kendra. The Akshay Patra maintaining the Hingonia Gaushalya is situated 15 kilometers from Jaipur is planning to develop the entire place into a tourist spot and earn money for the caretaking of cows.

At present, the money spent on cows is derived from around 2,500 litres of milk being collected in the Gaushala on a daily basis. Other than this 800 packets of buttermilk, ghee and bottles of gomutra are also sold.

It is to be recalled that Hingonia Gaushyala spread across 1500 bigha of land witnessed deaths of 2000 cows in 2016. The cows died due to poor management and inappropriate attention by Jaipur Municipal corporation, followed by which Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje sacked Jaipur Mayor.
