Amit Shah aims 'Muslim mukth Bharat': Asaduddin Owaisi

Last Updated 15 November 2018, 10:28 IST

Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) party president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi said Amit Shah's call to create an "MIM-mukth Hyderabad" is in fact a call to create a "Muslim-mukth Bharat".

Owaisi was addressing an election meeting at Bahadurpura in the Old City here on Wednesday.

He asserted that Muslims are in India by their Constitutional right and nobody can challenge their existence.

"Amit Shah has come to Telangana and said he will free Hyderabad of Majlis. What kind of freedom are you talking about? From where will you give this freedom? You don't wish freedom from Majlis, but instead wish to free Bharat of Muslims. You wish to alienate Muslims," Owaisi said.

Amit Shah had made the "MIM-mukth Hyderabad" statement Owaisi refers to last week while addressing a national conference of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha.

Shah had also charged the K Chandrasekhar Rao government of being scared of the MIM and said that is why the Hyderabad Liberation Day was not observed on September 17 every year.

The MIM and TRS are on friendly terms in Telangana.
