iOS 12.3 brings all-new Apple TV, bug-fixes and more

Apple released the latest software update iOS 12.3 to all eligible iPhones, iPads and iPod Touch.

The new iOS 12.3, which weighs a little over 500MB brings redesigned Apple TV with a visually appealing interface to browse for movies and TV shows. There is now a separate section for Kids so the parents will be less worried about their wards stumbling across age-inappropriate content. Through Family Sharing, up to six family members can share subscriptions to Apple TV channels using just their Apple ID and password. Subscribers can watch and download shows and movies both online and offline.

Thanks to advancement in machine learning, the app is capable of learning user behavior and is now able to make recommendations to the device owners.
The new Apple TV will also offer on-demand subscription via new 'Channels' feature, where consumers can access to HBO, Starz, SHOWTIME, Smithsonian Channel, EPIX, Tastemade and new services like MTV Hits, with more to be added over time around the world. Currently, Apple TV is now available in more than 100 regions.

Also, HBO subscribers for the first ever can download movies and shows such as “Game of Thrones” for offline viewing. No other app supports this feature.

The new iOS 12.3 brings AirPlay 2, which will enable all 2019-series Samsung (also select 2018 models) smart TVs to support streaming or mirroring of the multi-media content from the iPhones. Select VIZIO, LG and Sony smart TVs will also gain this feature later in the year. Even Apple Music and News+ get new design and features to improve user experience.
As bug-fixes are concerned, Apple has resolved Wi-Fi call drop issue, CarPlay song information missing, and Apple TV Remote lock glitch.

Here's how to install iOS 12.3 update on your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch

Via OTA (Over-The-Air)

Prerequisite: Users' who want to install the update directly on to the device through OTA, make sure to clear enough device storage space and the device should have more than 50% battery life, before initiating the download of the new iOS update

Step 1: Settings >> General >> Software update

Via manual installation through Apple iTunes

Prerequisite: Make sure to back up your iPhone or iPad with either iCloud or via iTunes before initiating the download procedure. Also, your PC must have the latest version of the iTunes app. If not, Go to About and then Check for Updates or visit iTunes.com.

Step 1: Launch iTunes on your Mac or PC.

Step 2: Insert your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch if it isn't already.

Step 3: Tap on the iPhone, iPad, or iPod in the top left navigation.

Step 4: Tap on the Check for Update button in the first section that contains information about your device and alternately you can click restore instead if you'd like to do a clean wipe with updated software.

Step 5: An update should be recognized, click on Download and Update in the popup menu and agree to the terms or conditions.

Step 6: Unlock your device with your passcode if prompted in order to continue with the upgrade.
